Cool people I met at SWITCHPOINT

Marsha Hamilton: Marsha used to be my head office liaison when I worked at IntraHealth – so it was great seeing her again! Marsha’s 18 month old, Andrew joined us for dinner, and had everyone in his thrall. Her husband Frank had just come back, unharmed, from the Boston marathon. Marsha was part of the event management team and made sure everything went smoothly.

Maureen Corbett: Maureen gave me a ride to the conference on both mornings along with her childhood friend, Cathy Trueba, who manages disability services at the University of Wisconsin, and also attended the conference. Great conversation is a great start to any day – and especially with the North Carolina countryside as a visual. I loved hearing the story of how Maureen met her husband!

Liz McClean: I met Liz McClean on an Virtual Leadership Development Program that she convened (an excellent program). At that time, she was pregnant with her first baby and gave birth just as we submitted our final assignment. Now she is pregnant with her second! It was great to discuss how the VLDP benefitted our team overtime, and the barriers we still faced.

Wendy Medlin I met in the lunch queue. She works at Quintiles trying to promote evidence based practice and data use. She gave me a ride home on the last day, and told me all about her four talented kids. Busy professional mums are inspiring!
